MariaInes is currently working on her debut album, incorporating elements of her training in Opera with Classic Pop. She attends the University of Southern California, where she recently performed the national anthem at one of their home basketball games. She has previously sung the anthem for the Special Olympics club at her high school, Oaks Christian. While in high school, she also sang for the Ventura County Banquet honoring donors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 

Following high school, MariaInes was offered admission to both The Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, MariaInes has chosen to study at the USC Thornton School of Music to integrate a Music Industry degree with her Vocal Arts major. 

 

Before beginning her studies at USC, her musical career began when she was a young girl with the help of her mentor, Agatha Carubia. An award winning Soprano and distinguished artist, Carubia has led MariaInes through her 2012 solo performance at Carnegie Hall, her 2014 and 2015 participations in the Classical Singer Competition (where she placed top 5 the first year and 2nd place the next), and her 2014 The Voice audition journey (making it to the last round before the Blind Audition).

 

Having been classically trained at the Music Academy of the West, her formative years as a singer were characterized by an operatic style. She was selected by the Academy in 2014 as a prominent Soprano in the professional opera performance of Bizet’s Carmen at the Granada Theater.  Evolving from her classical foundation, MariaInes has since developed an admiration for Pop, finding the genre to be a refreshing portrayal of realism.

Now at USC, she is sustaining her training in opera with Elizabeth Hynes (a current judge for the Metropolitan Opera), while working to cultivate a new foundation through Pop.  MariaInes plans to release her first album within the next year.
